New Delhi: The BJP organized a rally in Burari, north Delhi, called 'Thank You Modi ji', where they praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent decisions regarding land mutation in rural villages and the elimination of mandatory no objection certificates for power connections in some areas of the city. Delhi BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva expressed that these decisions were like a "Diwali gift" for residents of villages and unauthorized colonies. He mentioned that these long-standing issues were resolved only after BJP MPs met with LG VK Saxena and requested his assistance. Sachdeva commended the Narendra Modi government for the sensitive response in removing the requirement for departmental NOCs for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies and non-conforming areas of Delhi, as well as for reopening property mutations after a long hiatus.
However, AAP criticized the BJP, stating that they were trying to take credit for the work done by the Delhi government and mislead the public. AAP highlighted that the Delhi government provides the cheapest electricity in the country and questioned why none of the 22 BJP-ruled states offer free electricity if they care about the people. AAP accused BJP of attempting to misguide the residents of Delhi.
During the rally, Sachdeva mentioned that due to restrictions, elders were unable to pass on their properties to their children, which was addressed after BJP's requests. He also noted that the requirement of DDA's NOC for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies was eliminated. Sachdeva emphasized that BJP was committed to standing up for the rights of the less privileged and believed that only those who truly understand Delhi's challenges will appreciate these efforts.
Sachdeva concluded by stating that BJP was poised to win the upcoming polls in Delhi in February next year and promised that their government would extend electricity and water subsidies to middle-class households as well. The top priorities on the agenda include the implementation of the Prime Minister's housing scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and the regularization of temporary workers such as home guards, bus marshals, and guest teachers. Sachdeva emphasized that under the BJP government, no slum colonies would be demolished without offering alternative housing to the residents. Additionally, he highlighted the commitment to making the Yamuna pollution-free within a year through the Nirmal Yamuna Plan.
